Our Instructor
Charles Han has 16+ years of experience in the medical device industry, specializing in engineering, regulatory affairs, and quality. Currently in a senior leadership role in Quality Management Systems, Charles upholds the highest standards, drawing from a global perspective gained from living in the United States, Japan, and the Netherlands.
In addition to his achievements in Quality Management, Charles became a scuba diving instructor in 2017. He now specializes in GUE's (Global Underwater Explorers) Foundational Curriculum, prioritizing safety, skill mastery, and strict protocols, while emphasizing responsible diving practices. Charles's patient and detail-oriented teaching style fosters competence, confidence, and environmental awareness in his students.
With GUE's principles at the core, Charles cultivates a community of divers who advocate for safe and sustainable practices. As your instructor, he provides expert guidance, shaping you into a proficient and conscientious diver. Available Courses
The best way to schedule a course is to contact us directly! While open classes are generally posted on the Calendar page, most courses are scheduled and coordiated upon request.
The GUE Fundamentals course provides all divers with an opportunity to advance basic diving skills. It provides the non-GUE trained divers (divers who are already certified with another recognized diving agency) with a gateway into GUE training. This course will supplement training that divers may have already received and will give them more confidence in their basic skills even if they do not desire to go on for more advanced training. The course also includes the theory and use of nitrox.
If you want to spend more time in-water by extending bottom times, increasing depth, or simply diving in colder climates calls for proper thermal protection which can be provided by using a drysuit, this course is for you.
GUE’s Drysuit Primer is a non-certification course designed to prepare divers for drysuit diving using proper equipment and techniques.
Venturing into more advanced underwater environments is very often related to longer times and greater depths. To be able to safely extend both, divers need to increase their available breathing gas volume and add equipment redundancy.
The GUE Doubles Primer is a non-certification course designed to teach divers how to safely and comfortably dive a double tank configuration using proper equipment and techniques.
